   Straight Jello For A Week -Monday, August 17th, 2009 10:53 P.M

Its been about a good month and a half since my last blog so I think I owe my friends a new one:

This past week from August 10 th through the 17 th, I went out to Mississippi to go visit a good old friend of mine Angie. We had talked a lot this whole year about her coming out here to NYC to come visit ME, but unfortunately those plans fell through. I figured since I was working again and had some free time on my hands, so hell, why not right? The result? …The most fun I’ve had in a long time…Seriously. I say this to everyone who reads this: If you have someone who you are close to, or used to be close to and haven’t seen em in awhile, and you have a chance to go see them and they wanna see you back…do it. The ending result is rewarding and can leave you fresh and happy with a clear head when you need to head back to your Hyrule.

The fun started with me right on the plane ride going there. At first it seemed sucky that I had to fly from JFK to Detroit, transfer and fly to Memphis, and then transfer and fly finally to Mississippi. Let’s be honest…its kinda long. But it was actually quite fun. I hadn’t been on a plane in forever and I saw some pretty cool things. Detroit’s airport had a train right inside the terminals which was like something out of Disney’s MGM studios or Epcot or something. Flying to Tennessee I saw a cargo train that had to be AT LEAST a mile and a half long. The thing was so long I had to wait until the plane flew up ahead to see where the train started. Flying out of Tennessee I saw an odd crop circle, and then a perfect triangle-shaped crop circle near landing in Mississippi.

Angie was there to greet me within minutes of me landing in Gulfport. It was good to see her. I hadn’t seen her in over a year, but we still talk almost every single day on the phone. The moment I stepped out into the world I was hit with this horrible humidity. Mississipian humidity sucks, and it takes a day or two to get used to it, but it wasn’t so bad once we hopped in the car and headed over to her place.

Heres a basic rundown of the highlights of the week. Funny parts, parts I enjoyed a lot, big things that happened, etc. (It’d be too long to write and read out the whole week)

  • Angie’s sister Amy passed out on the toilet, haha
  • I got to drive for the first time in like 4 years
  • I scared Angie half to death in her own kitchen while taking a picture.
  • I got to take Angie to her birthday dinner that I’ve promised to take her to for almost half a year. It was an all you can eat PIZZA buffet called “Sicily’s”, which rocked by the way
  • I got the shit beat out of me in a pillow fight with Angie………Twice
  • Angie cuddling whenever she’s sleepy is awesome. Her arms are heat-seeking. It feels good to be held while falling asleep.
  • Angie and I talked about Zelda almost non-stop the whole week. I was surprised, I thought it would get annoying.
  • We went to an awesome water park for Angie’s little sister’s birthday. I picked up Angie and threw her in the path of a giant bucket of water that was tipping over.
  • I’m pretty sure there’s loads more things, but I just can’t remember em right now, I’ll add em as I remember them.

Angie and I almost never slept cause we were always talking about random stuff. We loved every minute of it. The only thing I didn’t like was having to go get cigarettes for her at the smoke shop…I hate buying cigs…

The funniest part of the week was when Angie and I got lost looking for an ATM. We went so far in the car and got in so much trouble when we got back. Angie drives pretty good…I mean uhh, I drove pretty good….Angie didn’t drive at all, Dawn if you’re reading this…hehe. Another funny thing was that her and I were GOING to go skinny dipping in the pool late night one night, but never got the chance to. I don’t think I would’ve anyway because she said if she got caught, they’d kick her out of her apartment

I think what I regret most about the trip is the fact that we couldn’t get my Wii to work on Angie’s mom’s TV. You see, before I left NY, I looked everywhere for my component cables, but all I had were my HD composite. Although her TV could do the composite, I had no idea why, but they were faulty. So all we got was fuzziness. This really sucked because I know Angie really wanted to play twilight princess. I still have her file untouched on my Wii even after over an entire year! Wow!

The ending of the week was bittersweet, as I didn’t properly get to say bye to Angie and the little dude. Angie was pretty tired so she was half asleep when I had to say my goodbyes for when her mom was going to drive me to the airport. It also kinda sucked that the Hurricane hit probably moments after I took off…I hope everyone is ok… Down in Mississippi, they have to evacuate whenever something big like that is headed their way.

Overall, the week was great, I had lots of fun and it was a great vacation and escape time from all the stuff I have to deal with here in NY. Now that I’m back though, I have a clear head and I feel a little happier and more confident than I did before….Why? I have no idea. I also feel loads more confident. Again, why? I dunno, stop asking.

Phew, I’m beat……ugh, and I STILL didn’t finish unpacking. Goodnight people. I think I might finish Four Swords Adventures though...

Fun Fact: I wrote this whole thing without looking at the keyboard once, I hope there aren’t any typos…
