The last 3 weeks have sucked...Really bad. I've been sick non-stop and right when one sickness went away, another took it's place. Now I know it's partially my fault, yea yea, blah blah, but this is ridiculous. I think my final sickness (the sinus infection) I may have gotten from Alyssa. See, she had her own series of sickness going on as well, and I took it upon myself to try and help out as much as I could. I'm pretty sure that whatever I got from her was from the soda we shared.
Yesterday afternoon, one of my headaches got up to it's unbearable point. You see, for the past 3 days, I've woken up with headaches, and have had to deal with them for the whole day. I have never in my life woken up with a headache. And now all of a sudden 3 days in a row? Gimme a break, huh? But anyway, on this 3rd day, what a simple 2 tablets of advil would've taken care of wasn't working. Alyssa had advised me to go to the ER, considering she had done the same, and they pretty much fixed her up good as new. Normally I don't take advice with a magnitude such as this one on such short notice, but I wasn't exactly doing anything, and Alyssa seemed pretty serious about it...So i decided to suck it up and just go.
My mom decided to come with me because she didn't like that Denny had ditched me in the ER last time (Remember me stepping on 3 rusty nails? Haha) It didn't take long for me to get registered and whatnot. Took my blood pressure, checked my temperature (from some ear thing), and asked me the typical questions, What seems to be the problem? How long have you felt like this? etc, etc. So they letme know that they'll call my name when they're ready and for me to have a seat.
I sat there in the waiting room for 3 hours until getting called into Pediatrics. So yea, I went into....wait what? PEDIATRICS? I'm 20 years old...Whatever, I guess I only looked 12 to them. Alrighty, so I get called into Pediatrics then get placed into this room with Dinosaurs painted onto the walls, ceiling, and drapes, heh. The doctor comes in, asks me the same questions I was asked before, plus some other "personal" ones as they call it. Such as are you sexually active right now? Have you smoked anything lately? Do you smoke at all?, etc. etc. The sexually active question was a funny one because both the doctor's who were treating me were not only the nicest doctor's I've ever had, but also the most attractive, haha.
So I tell them about my history with frequent headaches and stuff, how I've had frequent headaches since I was a kid, but never anything like this. They were both rather intrigued and wanted to run further tests to see what was going on. So rather than just taking my temperature, checking my breathing, prescribing something to me, and then getting me out of there...They ran a catscan on me, put me on oxygen, gave me the fattest and bluest tylenol I have ever seen, and hit me with an injection. The catscan was cool because I've never had one before. I thought for sure that while I was in there and that giant thing was spinning, they were reading my thoughts or something, haha. I felt like old snake with the oxygen. It made my mouth dry and made all my congestion start acting up. Whenever I tried talking normally, it sounded like my Solid Snake impression kicking in, so I thought it was kinda cool, although the oxygen made my headache worse. I popped the tube thing by mistake by squeezing it, but noone noticed it was me, so I played it off like if the doctor didn't put it on right. The pop was so loud it scared the crap out of everyone in the room, haha.
Time past very quickly in that place. They eventually gave me the injection which took away my headache within minutes, but made my arm hurt like hell...Again (*flashback* Tetanus shot*) I guess they had to bring in the heavy
artillery considering their super saiyan blue tylenol and dry oxygen treatments epically failed. So yea, afterwards I talked with the doctors a little bit. I told them how cool they were (since doctors are normally without expression) and told them what I did, with the websites, playing smash brothers, and what I did with Soap, and whatnot.
After we left the hospital I had a nagging craving for a big salad with chicken...I never got my big salad, but hey, at least my headache's are gone. Now I can finally get some work done and get back to my normal life. It's been almost 3 weeks and I haven't gotten anything important done...and that's sad.
