Winter Carnival, Brawl, Old Faces, and A Savior Of Two -Friday, January 23rd, 2009 11:59 P.M

Everyone knows that I was going to attend this year's "Winter Carnival" at John Bowne. In my own head it was to deal with some unfinished business and own up all the little Jap Club members in Brawl...Boy that is NOT how my night went.

Alyssa and I were supposed to head to the event together, kinda like a Bonnie and Clyde kinda thing to deal with our own shit for going to the winter carnival. At the last minute, Alyssa tells me that she can't make it. I didn't know anyone there besides mah boys and her, so why would I go now? She felt bad, but she really wanted me to go to do what it was I needed to do... All I was left with was a "Try and have fun ok? : ]"

When I finally get there, first thing I noticed was that noone was dancing on the dance floor, so me being me, I said "Screw this..." and headed into the game room. I knew this year they'd have brawl, and a perfect opportunity to own up the members of the Jap Club for all the crap they had put me through the year before... I started winning match after match after match. I showed everyone there my triforce tattoo, so they knew exactly what they were dealing with. I won every single match except for the last one, Marvin took that one. Throughout the last few matches, I kept hearing someone calling my name, but paid no attention.

The person calling my name was my friend Lita (who I had come in with) who is there with an old friend of mine, Michelle. I have not seen or talked to Michelle in exactly ONE YEAR from this day. Lita was trying to get me to talk to her, and I really just wasn't having it. (If you don't know why, then you really shouldn't be reading this blog) I simply said "Hey" and turned away from her to watch the other guys play Brawl. She was trying to get me to say anything to her, but again, I simply ignored her because I didn't wanna have anything to do with her at the moment. She asks me if she could have a hug, so hesitatingly, I said ok. She gives me this hug like If I had just come back from saving the world and noone has seen me for weeks thinking I'm dead or something. The hug lasted a little longer than I wanted, so I cut it short. She tried to make any kind of conversation with me, but again, I ignored almost everything. Michelle then tells me "Umm...Imma go cry now...bye." This is Michelle we're talking about, so she means it, SERIOUSLY. Here she is, happy as hell to see me, and I'm not giving into any of it...geez. I've always went by a strict rule: "The worst thing in the world is to make a girl cry"

So I sent Vic to go find her, because I didn't need the guilt of a crying girl on my shoulders. I found her minutes later hanging with Lynn, so I asked her if she wanted to come with me to the store (Which was obviously my way of making it up for making her cry, and also giving chance to perhaps some conversation) So we left, got our hands stamped to get back in, and out we headed.

We talked about various things along the way. Went to the store, talked some more, and headed back to the school. When we got there, the doors were locked. Someone eventually came to open the door, but when we got to the front desk, they wouldn't let us back into the event. But without making a fuss, I simply said "Fuck it, lets get outta here and go somewhere else." So we grabbed our coats, and out we went...

We didn't know where to go, so we called up Marvin, Vic, and Lynn to come meet us somewhere. They were still partying, so they said they'd meet us up in an hour or so. We stood outside the store on Horrace Harding and Main street for a long time, just talking...We decided to grab some pizza at her dad's pizza place when...

We were crossing the street, and at about half-way, this crazy car comes outta nowhere full speed right at the change of the green light and turns towards us. This guy obviously doesn't see us. He was doing at least 35, and he was headed right for us. Normally when you see a car a little too close for your comfort, you can easily dash out of the way. Not this time. Not this car...This car was coming in way too fast for me to simply dash out of the way and expect Michelle to do the same. What do I do? If I stay there, he's not stopping, we'll be killed. If I jump back, she won't respond in time, and the car next to that one will get me! What happens now?

I always said I would do this in a situation like this if it ever happened, and thank god I did. Instinctively, I grabbed Michelle with both my arms around her, and threw us both across the remainder of the street with all the force I could muster together, stumbling upon landing. I don't think I've ever been so afraid of getting hit by a car in my life, It's just that it was going SO FAST, and it was SO DAMN CLOSE to hitting us! I still get chills whenever I think about it.

Afterward, I was able to confirm that the guy didn't see us, he didn't honk or even stop. I was so angry. I looked over at Michelle, she was shaking like a leaf, so I calmed down a bit and asked her, "Are you ok?", and she still had enough Michelle in her to reply "You're still my Sonic, Renny"

The rest of the night is shrowded in secrecy, sorry guys.... : [

A year later and I'm STILL Sonic? Man, I wanted to be Batman...
